Dropdown not working jQuery error

I am using Ruby 2.0.0 and Rails 4.2.3.

My bootstrap dropdown menu is not working on heroku. I have no idea why? I have tried everything but nothing seems to help

When i checked the javascript console (F12) on my browser it shows the following error:

Error: Bootstrap's JavaScript requires jQuery application-6de83ae08cb7e1d68e66d4b193a2778e.js:9:9
GET 
ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined jquery.backstretch.min.js:1:1
ReferenceError: $ is not defined

and i just don't know how to solve this. Does anybody can help me with this? thanks in advance

Looks like you forgot to include the call to the JQuery library in your template? As described in the example here: http://getbootstrap.com/getting-started/#template

Add the following line before the closing < /body> tag in your views/layouts/application.html.erb file:

<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
