CakePHP2 - console test setup

I have the CakePHP Test Suite 2.10.13 setup with PhpUnit 5.7.27. I can get some of the tests running on the browser at /test.php.

I have created some fixtures and created a test database connection which seems to be connecting and creating the tables. I am however getting datasource class mysql could not be found during this process.

There are a few problems being encountered with headers being set early and I think this is to do with sessions. The advised approach was to add --stderr to the console line, but I can't get any of the unit tests to run from here. I use the command .\Console\cake test app

I'm finding this difficult to debug. Any tips on getting the CakePHP test shell working?
