prop() and attr() don't work in IE 11. This is causing me to not be able to show the links that I want to show on my aspx page. Is there a way to be able to work with prop() on IE11? If not, what would be the workaround in this scenario?

Have tried replacing it with attr(). There are no errors. The list gets created but the links inside don't. Works fine in chrome and other browsers.

$(document).ready(function ()
    {
        // Attach event handler
        var el = document.getElementById('emailLink');
        el.onclick = function ()
        {
            document.location = el.href + " FOR: " + window.location.hostname;
            return false; // this prevents the href from being followed
        }
        for (var x=0; x < _pages.length; x++)
        {
            var item = _pages[x];
            var li = $("<li>").appendTo("#pageList");
            $("<a>").prop("target", "_new").prop("href", item.url).html(item.text).appendTo(li);
        }
    });
