CMake vs ndk-build. Better one? Reason?

I have already worked on certain ndk based android projects around 6 months before. Now when I am trying to build a new ndk project I have a little confusion that I needs to be solved.

When I used android studio to include C++ integration during creating new project I got an error.

So my question is should I show some interest in knowing CMake or should go back to create android.mk file to use ndk.

Could someone point out major benefits of CMake over ndk-build.

Thanks
